About Vocab Match
A column of impressive words on the left. A column of definitions on the right. Match them up. Sounds simple — until you realize you've been saying 'tenacious' for years without knowing what it actually means.
How to Play
- Tap a word in the left column
- Tap its matching definition in the right column
- Correct matches turn green and lock in
- Wrong matches just deselect — try again
- Match all 5 to complete the round
Tips & Strategy
- Look for word roots — 'eloquent' (loqu = speak) suggests speaking-related
- If you don't know a word, find the definition that DOESN'T match anything else
- Read all definitions before matching — sometimes the right answer becomes obvious by elimination
- Make it a habit: try one round daily for a month and you'll genuinely expand your vocabulary
Brain Benefits
Vocab Match grows your active vocabulary — words you can use, not just recognize. This translates to clearer writing, more precise thinking, and better performance on standardized tests like the SAT, GRE, and LSAT.
