About Fraction Match
A column of simplified fractions on the left. A column of unsimplified equivalents on the right. Match them up. ½ pairs with 4/8. ⅔ pairs with 6/9. Get all 5 to advance.
How to Play
- Tap a fraction on the left column
- Tap its equivalent fraction on the right column
- Correct match = both highlight teal
- Wrong match = nothing happens, try again
- Match all 5 to complete the round
Tips & Strategy
- Reduce the right-column fractions in your head — divide top and bottom by their common factor
- Look for obvious doubles first (½ → 2/4, 4/8) before harder reductions
- Working backward from a 'mystery' right-column fraction is sometimes faster than forward from the left
- If you're rusty, recite times tables of 2, 3, and 4 — most fractions reduce by these
Brain Benefits
Fraction recognition is foundational for algebra, ratios, and any practical math. Studies show that struggle with fractions in 5th grade predicts math difficulties through high school. Adults use this when cooking, dividing bills, or interpreting statistics.
