About Color Match (Stroop)
Color Match is based on the classic Stroop test. A word appears in one color but spells another. Click the button matching the word's MEANING — not its color. Sounds easy. It isn't.
How to Play
- A color word appears (e.g. 'BLUE') in a different color
- Four buttons appear below
- Click the button labeled with the WORD'S MEANING
- Don't be fooled by what color it's printed in
Tips & Strategy
- Read first, look at color second
- Whisper the word silently — it overrides your eyes
- If you slip up, slow down — speed comes with practice
- The Stroop effect is real and unavoidable. Don't beat yourself up.
Brain Benefits
The Stroop test directly measures cognitive flexibility and inhibition — your brain's ability to override automatic responses. It's a foundational neuroscience tool.
